The Story Behind
the Songs
Every Willow & Co song is produced by a real music producer with decades of experience. This is that story.

Studio 7
Studio 7 began in an outbuilding. Not a commercial facility, not a hired space, a room that was built because the songs had nowhere else to go. Fifteen years away from playing in bands, and somewhere in that silence the music had been accumulating. Studio 7 was the release valve. What started as an attempt to write for advertising, television and film, with some success on French and Italian TV, in apps, and in places that still resist easy explanation, eventually became something more personal. A vehicle for solo albums, side projects, and a growing body of work that had no interest in fitting neatly into any one category.
J.T. Ryan
The first gig was in his parents' back garden. Thirteen years old, five carefully selected friends in the audience, a drum kit and more ambition than sense. That's where it started. Drums came first. Then drums and vocals. Then just vocals, as the songs became the thing rather than the rhythm section. The journey ran through heavy rock, eventually settling into soul, a thirteen piece soul band at its most expansive, before the 1980s cover band era, and finally into the studio, alone, with everything accumulated from four decades of listening, writing and performing. Over the last ten years, that accumulated knowledge has gone into producing original work: solo albums, named projects, television placement, advertising. Forty years of songwriting experience and a trained ear that knows immediately when something is right, and equally immediately when it isn't.
The Rogues Gallery
One of the great mysteries of traditional music production is that the musicians who played on the most iconic recordings of the twentieth century were largely invisible. The Wrecking Crew, the session players behind hundreds of the most recognised songs in popular music, were recognidable for the sound before anyone knew their names. The Rogues Gallery is built in the same spirit. AI in music production offers something genuinely extraordinary to a songwriter who hears every part clearly but cannot physically play them all: access to virtually every instrument ever recorded, and the most adaptable session musicians imaginable. The difference is what you do with them. The Rogues Gallery is not a button pressed and a result accepted, it is a group of virtual musicians who have been developed over hundreds of hours, each with specific playing styles, influences and sensibilities, directed by someone who knows exactly what they are listening for. The AI doesn't write the songs. It plays them.
The Moment It Became Real
It started as something lighter. A couple of songs made to amuse two daughters, not entirely serious, not entirely successful. But there was something in the audio quality, and something in the flexibility, that made it impossible to dismiss. What followed was a full thirteen song album, a personal testimony written for a wife, children, stepchildren and grandchildren. The steepest learning curve. The project that built the Rogues Gallery properly, that pushed the production standard as far as it would go, and that produced the unexpected result of making his parents cry the first time they heard it. His wife still has her song as her ringtone. That is, by any measure, the highest possible praise. That album led to re-recording the entire back catalogue in various styles. And then to something entirely new: The Kids in the Mirror Shades — a concept album released under the name Mirror Script, telling the story of a disillusioned lifestyle influencer who becomes unwittingly embroiled in a scandal before finding a new direction and a new life. Available on Spotify now. A follow-up EP in production. A companion novel three-quarters written. This is not a sideline. It is the work.

Some people have a built-in need to create. Not a hobby, not an interest, a need. If it isn't being satisfied it is being planned. Bespoke T-shirts designed for friends and family. Stories written for children based on exactly what they loved. A family album that made his parents cry. All roads were pointing in the same direction. The ability to design, to write, to produce music, and the desire to use those things to bring something genuine into the lives of the people who receive it. Willow & Co is where those roads arrived.
Our Promise
Someone who spent decades dismissing manufactured music has been completely converted, not by convenience, but by possibility. By what becomes available when you stop thinking of AI as a shortcut and start treating it as the most sophisticated studio instrument ever built. Every song ordered through Willow & Co will receive the same level of care and attention given to any song written for family or friends. The same trained ear. The same standard. The same refusal to send something that isn't right. That is the only promise that matters.
