A Book That Belongs to Them
Not just their name on the cover. Their name in the story, woven through every page, every chapter, every moment that matters.
Personalised children’s books have been around for years. Most of them have the same problem.
A name gets dropped onto a cover and into a sentence or two. The story underneath is generic, the kind of adventure that could belong to any child, with any name, in any setting. The personalisation is decorative. The book itself is forgettable.
Willow & Co books are built from a different premise entirely.
Every book in this range is written to the standard of traditionally published children’s fiction. Real characters. Real emotional arcs. A story that earns its ending. And a personalisation that runs through the whole thing — not bolted on afterwards, but structural. Woven in from the first word to the last.
When a child opens a Willow & Co book, they don’t just see their name. They find themselves at the centre of a story that genuinely couldn’t exist without them.
How We Think About Personalisation
We’ve thought carefully about what personalisation should and shouldn’t include.
Every book is built around three things we ask for: your child’s name, their age, and the name of their companion, a best friend, a beloved toy, a pet, whatever they’d choose to take on an adventure.
That’s it. Nothing else.
We don’t ask for, and we never print, a surname, an address, a school name, or any detail that could identify a child to someone who didn’t already know them. The personalisation makes the book feel written for your child. It does not make the book a document about them.
The story belongs to them. The details stay with you.
Two Ways to Make It Personal
Template Books
The adventure is waiting. We just need to know who’s going on it.
Our template books are complete, handcrafted stories, written to the standard of traditionally published children’s fiction, built around four personalisation points that make the story feel as though it was written specifically for your child.
Choose a setting. Tell us your child’s name, age, pronouns and the name of their companion. We do the rest.
Three settings at launch:
Harrow Beck Farm: A day on the farm takes an unexpected turn when something goes missing and only one person, with a little help from their companion — is brave enough to find it. Warm, funny, and rooted in the quiet magic of the countryside.
Grumblewick Academy: A school for wizards and witches where the lessons are peculiar, the teachers are stranger still, and one new student discovers they might be more capable than anyone expected.
Unicorns: The third launch setting is in its final stages. Something wonderful this way comes.
Three age bands. One story for every child.
• Ages 5–7 — Picture book format. Short sentences, strong rhythm, warm and comic. Read aloud to them.
• Ages 7–9 — Illustrated chapter book. More edge, more adventure, a real challenge met with quiet pride.
• Ages 9+ — Chapter book. Genuine consequence. A protagonist who makes real decisions and discovers what they’re made of.
Every template is written with the same rigour as the bespoke range. The personalisation is load-bearing, remove it and the story changes. That’s the standard we hold every manuscript to before it enters the library.

Bespoke Books
One child. One story. Written for no one else.
A bespoke Willow & Co book goes further than any template can.
Before a word is written, we want to know about your child. Not their address or their school, their world. The things that make them who they are. The games they play. The things that make them laugh. The way they see the world. The specific details that only the people who love them would know.
That’s what goes into the story.
A bespoke book is a fully original piece of children’s fiction, written from scratch, for one specific child, drawing on details that will never appear in any other book. It is not a template with more fields. It is a conversation, a brief, and then a story that belongs to one person and no one else.
The companion, the setting, the emotional arc, the resolution, all of it shaped around what you tell us. The writing standard is identical to the template range. The experience is entirely different.

Why the Writing Matters
The personalised book market has a well-documented quality problem. Rhymes that don’t scan. Plots that go nowhere. Characters with no interior life. Endings that arrive because the page count ran out, not because anything was resolved.
We know this because we read the market before we wrote a single word. And we decided that if we were going to do this, we were going to do it properly.
Every Willow & Co manuscript is written to the standard we’d hold any children’s book to, the same standard as the books that get read again and again, that children ask for at bedtime three nights running, that adults remember decades later.
That means vocabulary calibrated precisely to the age band. Sentence lengths that a child at that reading level can actually follow. Characters with genuine personality. A story that earns its emotional resolution rather than stumbling into it.
The personalisation makes it specific. The writing makes it worth keeping.
